SBPatt 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2021 Muddled Klympen (variation) Taking a lot of liberties with a Danish seatrout pattern. The multicolor twisted wire creates an interesting effect (probably could have skipped the return-wrap rib on this one) Whether fish care one way or another is debatable. hook - WFC Model 6 #8 thread - Veevus 8/0 tan tail - pheasant tail flash - Mirage Flashabou opal abdomen - small wire olive/copper (twisted) thorax - Ice Dub Golden Brown shoulder - pheasant rump head/collar - pronghorn dyed brown (1 Tbs Rit Golden Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Cocoa Brown/1 cup water) Regards, Scott

Moshup 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2021 I think this was Dave Brandt’s favorite Classic Catskill fly. Art Flick’s “Red Quill.” Dave use to walk around the shows with a small biological test tube filled with water and stripped Rhode Island red quills in his breast pocket. Dave was a great guy and he was always good for a informative chat. He was an expert on the methods of tying woodduck wings though he had his favorite way of tying them in. I learned that not all woodduck flank feathers are the same and Dave told me he spent hours sorting through them for the ones that would work the best. Dave will be missed by the many who would see him and chat with him at the various shows during the off season. R.I.P. Dave “Red Quill” Hook. ....... Mustad 98482 Sz 14 Thread. ... Utc 70. Moshup 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2021 Just now, Pbass said: @Moshup Thats so nice! A work of art for sure. Eh ! thanks . A little bump in the middle I don’t like. The thing is I can’t even see that blemish until I magnify it to take a picture. Frustrating. Art Flick was a really nice guy as well. I was just getting out of college when I met him at a TU dinner. I tie with glasses on and a magnifier with a light and still cant see well. Pictures are very revealing. Thats cool that you got to meet Art Flick!
