February Flies From the Vise

My favorite wet fly.  I think I prefer the wings curving down more than up.

ROYAL COACHMAN WET

HOOK: #12 - #8 2XS -1XL NYMPH

THREAD: BLACK #70

TAIL: GOLDEN PHEASANT TIPS

ABDOMEN: PEACOCK HERL – NATURAL/RED FLOSS

THORAX: PEACOCK HERL - NATURAL

WING: DUCK QUILL- WHITE

COLLAR: HEN - NATURAL

HEAD: GLOSS NAIL POLISH

Thank you-  Not perfect but the brookies do go for them.  The wings get ruined very quickly but I really like tying the old school flies.

Tied up a few simple nymphs with Hare's Ice Dub to restock my spring panfish box.

Abdomen/Thorax: Hare's Ice Dub (Black)

Rib: X-Small Ultrawire (Gold)

Collar: Hare's Ice Dub (Black) in a dubbing loop

Body light olive scud dubbing

Hackle: burnt orange grizzly 

Thread 10/0 vevus.

 

I think the hackle is a bit long.  May trim it
