    Tina Turner

Yes, a great loss, a great entertainer, and a hell of a set of legs. Its unfortunate that whenever I think of TIna Turner, I can't help but think of the NY Post headline when Ike died.
  2. Man, and I thought I had been to some crazy parties back in the day.
  3. Looks good Mark, how big?
  4. LOL. There is no updated list on my phone or my computer on page 46. There is one on page 43 and there's now another one on page 47. LoL. This thread doesn't even go to page 50 on my phone or laptop. Maybe that's the issue. Too funny.
  5. I use the Semperfli tying wax as well as some cobblers wax (homemade, I think) I received from a generous member here. It depends on what I'm tying, mostly to minimize thread buildup on smaller/slimmer patterns, or to change the color of silk thread. They both work well, prepped as in the link provided above by DF. I can't get the blob to stay well enough on top of my finger, so I keep it tucked inside the knuckle of my index finger. I have never used the Veniards, so I can't compare. I don't have any Overtons, and the few brands of dubbing wax I have used I'm not overly impressed with, about the same as toilet ring wax, imo. Dubbing wax I only use for dubbing, not as a substitute for tying wax. And then it's usually just for touch dubbing or for dubbing very unruly material. Usually, I just dampen my fingers.
  6. I see the updated list on page 43, using the page menu to navigate there works on my Android. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
  7. Weird I still don't see it maybe I just need more coffee
  8. Link comes back to this page for me.
  9. +1 for everything said above. Godspeed to a steady recovery, Cencalfly.
  10. Nice fish and report, DF. Maybe one of these days our lines will cross. My brother and I had the pleasure of having no one else on the stream for the 8 hours we were there. I was pretty surprised. Thanks F5. Nothing wrong with that at all in my book.
  11. Thanks CP. Hope to do the same in a few weeks.
  12. Wicked busy here lately, but was able to spend some time yesterday on the water with my brother. It was a heck of a day for hatches, small black caddis, small yellow stones, mayflies from #18's to #12's. Alas, virtually no surface activity. Lots of tippet wasted trying to figure out what was on the menu - I sat down to change flies and there were dozens of these small black caddis on my pant's leg, some in the process of hatching. Seems all they wanted was small, dark soft hackles. Funny, with all the bigger bugs out and about.
  13. Nice Seaducer - only tied and fished them a few times.

    What’s cooking

Got inspired earlier today when Poopdeck mentioned making pizza in the Fly of the Month thread
  16. Nice. Enjoy while you can, every second. My Dad can't get out anymore.
  17. May as well stay on a simple, salty path Next challenge: Seaducer
  18. Bend-Back Glass Minnow Hook: 34007, #2, bent slightly just behind the eye Thread: Red, UTC 140 Body: tin foil under-body, #15 mono over-body Wings: Bucktail: black or olive over white a few strands of the appropriate color flash. Based on the glass minnow tied by Carl Hansen, somewhat of a legend in the St Pete FL area. Some claim he was the originator of the glass minnow pattern, though now a days the term 'glass minnow' has come to refer to any small, lightly dressed baitfish pattern. (At least from the little I have read.) Cap't Lemay probably has better info.
  19. Lovely. That was an impressive run.
  20. Joey enters the confessional, kneels down and says 'Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl.' The priest asks, 'Is that you, little Joey Pagano?' 'Yes, Father, it is.' 'And who was the girl you were with?' 'I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation.' "Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?" 'I cannot say.' 'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?' 'I'll never tell.' 'Was it Nina Capelli?' 'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.' 'Was it Cathy Piriano?' 'My lips are sealed Father.' 'Well then, was it Rosa DiAngelo?' 'Please, Father, I cannot tell you.' The priest sighs in frustration. 'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now go and behave yourself.' Joey walks back to his pew and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, 'What'd you get?' 'Four month's vacation and five excellent leads.'
  21. I was not aware the original had the tail, thanks for that info.
  22. Normally I would use recently sold items on eBay as a 'guide' for pricing, but I see there are none. Also for selling. Although for an item like yours, you might be better off selling it on here or another of the well known fly fishing forums.
  23. That is one heck of an assortment of fish, and good sized one's too. Sounds like a fun trip, great set of photos, thanks for posting them.
