Good thinking. Thanks for posting. Looks like the tail material is different too, can you tell what it is?
-
I love that slim, sleek look you give your streamers, very nice flytire. I can't remember exactly, but I seem to recall some question as the whether the bucktail underwing was or wasn't part of the original recipe, but I could be wrong.

Looks like some UK sellers have it on the big auction site.

👍👍

Nice tie. You mean the Golden Darter?
-
Next challenge; The Reub Wood - a rolled wing is acceptable.

The Quack Hook: #14 Thread: dark brown, 8/0 Wing: kip tail (original was impala) Tail: natural brown bucktail, not sure what original tailing was used. Body: peacock, red buttonhole silk, peacock Hackle: dark brown This is what most people refer to as a Royal Wulff, created essentially at the same time as the Quack. Mrs. Dette refused to call it a Royal Wulff, I assume because she felt Q. L. Quackenbush should be given credit for its creation. Of course, I could be wrong.

I'll take that.

Nice post, good stuff.

LoL - what's that saying? A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work?

An inside job?

Nice two-fer, Sandan Good job, a bit more involved than most of Gartside`s patterns.

Yeah search doesn't work most of the time. Best way is to use google to search the site: Search term site:flytyingforum.com

Thanks Sandan. Just picked a few patches up the other day. Pretty cool stuff.

I'm not one to be impressed by mounted animals or fish, but that is awesome!
-
Never heard of it - pretty cool find, CP.

Mostly agree with CP. For the strip I would lean more towards mink. The round patch, the gray underfur makes me think muskrat.

You got a nice treasure trove there, CD. Jungle cock, most often used for eyes on streamers.
