Heres the recipe Cathys Super Bugger ( thats the name given in the magazine ) hook: #6-8 tiemco 3761 thread: tan, black or olive 3/0 tail: marabou tied over 6 strands of krystal flash body: black soft hackle legs: 3 sililegs per side collar: orange saddle hackle eyes: yellow and black hourglass eyes head: tan, olive or black spikey dubbing wrapped around the eyes for small fotos see: http://www.barryandcathybeck.com/allmerch.html scroll down to the flies section Do a GOOGLE search for additional info

Its Mackie Bug, not Mackey.

  4. If you are prone to nicking and breaking thread on the hook point then bury the point out of the way. If not then it doesnt really matter one way or the other.

  8. Andy, The flies that you mention above, in what sizes do you tie them? What "simple" or "easy" flies do you recommend for a newie to tie?

  10. elkcrazy, I too carry alot of flies but Ive come to realize I probably only use about a dozen or so on each outing. So with that Feather-Craft box Ive divided it into 2 boxes, 1 for Mayflies and the other for Caddis. But I also have backup boxes just in case!!!

  14. Work on the head proprtions and shorten up on the wooly bugger tail. It will end up wrapping around the hook. Just my opinion, yours will vary.
  15. Are freshwater clousers tied differently than saltwater clousers? Are saltwater clousers tied heavier? Does one clouser tied sparse outfish one tied a little heavier? Do fish count hairs?
  16. If you are in Canada, how does the shipping to the USA work and the legality of it? How about CITES? etc etc etc
