Dip Shrimp, tan

Hook: Mustad Long Shank Stainless, #2

Thread: Uni-Thread 6/0, fire orange

Tail: SF Slinky Fibers UV, shrimp

Antennae: Krystal Flash, copper

Eyes: Stone-Flo V shrimp eyes

Thorax: Palmer Chenille, medium, tan

Abdomen/legs: Palmer Chenille, small, tan

Back/shell: 2mm foam, tan

Rib: Wire, 0.2mm, brown

Weedguard: 20lb mono

Tail support: UV resin on underside

The gurgler shrimp is a great skipping bait on the surface, but sometimes you want the fly to just dip below the surface. The colder temperatures means that the small shrimp will begin to reside along the marsh shorelines and the redfish, trout and snook will be in pursuit.

General Money II

Steelhead

Hook - Single Salmon
Thread - Black
Tip - Oval silver tinsel
Tail - Golden pheasant crest feather
Ribbing - Oval gold tinsel
Body - Dubbed with black lamb's wool
Wing - Red bucktail tied over the body
Hackle - Yellow tied on as a collar in front of the wing and tied back. (The hackle is also tied palmer-style on one variation)

Brigadier General Noel Money of Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, originated the two preceding patterns. These flies originally sported swan quill wings, however, they were replaced with bucktail over fifty years ago. General Money was one of our early fly-fishing fishing steelhead pioneers on the West Coast. Fly tiers were always seeking out his patterns and attempting to duplicate them. There were about nine known patterns but the two I have listed were the most popular.

Great ties all around.Might start posting a few myself in the coming weeks.I just don't take many pics of flies fish etc these days.Happy New Year to all.Stating a new phase in life in this coming year. Can finally retire, actually have to at least from my lifetime occupation. After a stroke i can no longer do manual labor 8hrs a day.Had hoped to make it a couple years more ,having to take SS early as well as my modest pension a little early. my income will not be what i expected but i will be fine.Feeling good and permanent damage is not that bad.Feel blessed and plan on enjoying the rest of this ride.
