The other day I saw a fly a tied by Dale Darling on another site and I really liked but it called for yellow dyed grizzly dry fly hackle ! So I teased him jhow only Dale Darling would have grizzly dyed yellow dry fly hackle and wouldn’t you know he sent me some. Nice guy and I appreciated the generosity.  Anyway here’s my first attempt and I’m sure a poor one compared to Dale’s.   Sz 12  Mustad 94840

Muddled Sedgehog

Playing around with some materials; the sharptail seems to be playing background vocals here, although pre-head/collar it looked real nice.

tag - Depth Ray fire orange/resin 
tail - deer hair
body - dubbing Ice Dub hare’s ear
wing(s) - deer hair
1st shoulder - golden pheasant rump 
2nd shoulder - sharptail grouse 
head/collar - deer hair

Still playing with my new toy. Not my best work, oh well, what the heck. I think I have the problem with the twisted wings figured out. I'll know later when I get back to the vise(vice).  The collar on the two upright winged flys is from the new toy too.  And everyone has been rocking it so far this month. Keep up the stellar work all

Thanks @fshng2 Yep it's the JC.  For the streamer body I used French oval silver tinsel, size 14 it think, maybe the same as Uni or Wapsi medium.  I got it from the bargain bin at Cabela's years ago. The wing is brown and white bucktail and black bear hair. Black bear hair courtesy of our newest moderator @Mark Knapp. Thanks Mark

Time for something wet.       Flymph  sz 12.    Red grouse for the hackle. I think on the next one I would add fine gold wire.
