  1. I see the fans in the background are cheering for you… or they are egging on the dog to reach for something. 😏 michael
  2. Mikechell, You mentioned using pallet wood for your projects. Have you used any cutoffs from hardwood flooring? Frequently I can hit up the local installers and they'll have a box full of the stuff for little or no money. Only issue is the finish needs to be ground off before you touch a tool to it. Michael
  3. DFoster, Filled up last night for $4.069. Went past same station mins ago they are now $4.299. On top of that, my wife showed me the electric bill last week, there was a 2x increase in both my house and my shop. With out a question this will cut back on some destination fishing this year. It will absolutely cut back on the duck hunting too. Ok NOW I feel like an old man because all I want to add is “when I started working my first job was at a gas station, I was pumping gas at $29 cents/gal. I can still remember my Dad saying he would sell the truck befor he payed .50 cents a gallon. There was a great deal of expletives that went into that statement too. Michael R. 4. Poopdeck, If you also look up Lichtenberg Machine you will find how these work. Really cool stuff. Mikechell, Now all you need is some epoxy and colors.
  5. Just watched the weather forecast, looks like we are getting the same storm Thursday and Friday. I have the shovel all warmed up. Michael
  6. Well worth the price of admission I’d say. Michael
  7. Well, we had a different weather pattern here in Maine yesterday. Snow started about 7am and ended about 4am this morning. Only needed to shove twice,. Turned out to be reasonably lite snow, but there was 20” of it. Michael
  8. Greatest Christmas gift EVER!!! My wife is awesome! Michael
  9. Had breakfast with My Brother and his Wife, my Sister, her Husband and two our of three of her children, my Daughters and my Mother. We didn't get the cops involved this year so it was a good Christmas. 😉 Michael
  10. Steve, May God be with you and your Mom. Michael
  11. Dave 82nd, You are talking about my home state. Born and raised here. Moved away in the early 80's and moved back in the late 90's. What kind of questions do you have? Michael
  12. Good morning Bob, Someone you may want to give a shot is Theriault Flys out of Stacyville Maine. http://www.theriaultflies.com. It ha been a hot minute since I've been in their shop but it is hugely impressive. I'm confident if you give them a call, they will know exactly what you are asking for. Michael R.Earle
  13. That is awesome!!! So glad that it has worked its way into a livable situation. Michael
  14. I may get haters for this, however.... I am not vaccinated and for a multitude of reasons that are legitimate to me. That being said, I am coming closer to understanding what the attributes and the pitfalls are to the vaccination and am coming closer getting it in the near future. My wife is vaccinated because she is in the medical profession. What I find curious is the medical field is saying that a person that has been vaccinated can still contract COVID19, although their symptoms will be greatly reduced, however they still have the ability to spread this virus. So my question is, "Why are we lifting the mask mandates?" I do apologize for the controversy, Michael
  15. A few things I've figured out so far. I am planning to weld them together and putting a roof on it. Being in Maine, I plan on insulating the heck out of it. Probably closed cell spray foam. As for your compressor/dust collector room, I would highly recommend either a cyclone style or adding an inline separator for the system you choose. This will help with disposing of larger particles MUCH easier. Also look into making an overhead air filtration system to you shop to remove the fine particals. The will help keep you around a lot longer. Thank you for your insight. It will help. Michael
  16. Mikechell, Looking into building a shop to replace the old one. At the moment I'm thinking 3 shipping containers on piers. Any advice? Things you would have changed, things you would add or subtract, multiply or divide? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Michael
  17. 5-14-19 The Painted Trilliums are just starting to bloom. Michael

  21. Hey Mikechell, A trick that works well for when I make knitting needles. You will need a chuck on the drive side and a clamping system on the live center. I have a multi tip live center that I can use as a jam chuck. Then you can gently pull it apart rather than having inward pressure on the wand as you get thinner. This trick really cuts down on the harmonic disturbance. These are my most recent knitting needles that I made using this technique. These needles are a little over 10" long and approx. 3/16" thick. Michael
  22. Good looking wand turnings. Curious if you have tried any multi axis turnings. I wonder what it would look like on a wand and what kind if work it would take to do it? Michael
  23. Huge congrats guys!!! I personally never took it up, however I remember my Dad saying giving up cigarettes it was the must difficult thing he ever did in his entire life. Michael
