I would just use a piece of wide gold tinsel, or similar, cut to shape, I think.  Of course you would lose the weight of those brass spoons, not sure if the weight is integral to fishing the pattern, I would guess not as I see them tied with JC eyes.

I would definitely prefer to work with real, faux is slippery and generally difficult to work with.That said, I’m a year into tying and my material collection is in progress though that may forever be the case.  I 100% appreciate any feedback and I do plan on perfecting this one before the 5 days is up.

Butt: Ice Dub, pink

Body hackle: Guinea

Body: Polar Dub, black

Hackle: Purple Marabou

Flash: Flashabou, pink

The pattern calls for Lady Amherst Pheasant tail fibers but don;t have any.
