    Nice review on this rod,I sold all my sage rods and left the fast rod generation for winston fly rods.

    I have been using simms for about 15-16 years,actually there the only brand I ever had.I currently own 4 pairs of waders,5 pairs of there boots,and so much other equiptment and clothes I should be a simms poster guy.

    The only thing I have seen and heard about tfo rods is their rods are the most returned rods because of breakage,they are thin wall blanks.I personally would not own a tfo rod,my opinion,my choice.

    Does anybody know or have the tying recipe for the quigley crown jewel nymph.i have tied some just by looking at a picture but would like to know the actual recipe.thanks

    I have to agree with the other answers,the knots or that tippet ring is your problem.I use trouthunter leaders and tippets only, here in Colorado where we catch 18 to 22lb trout on the fryingpan and taylor rivers,never have broken the leader only the tippet.

    I ordered a grizzly died black soft hackle with chickabou.Thought I was getting a whiting farms saddle in a whiting farms package,instead got a plain package.Also noticed the hackle seems brittle.At this time probably will not be ordering anymore.P.S the hackle was not grizzly but pure black.

    The best vise is the one that will tie you flies that catch fish.Oh and I tie on a renzetti.

    Ordered a soft hackle yesterday,has been shipped,on it's way.

    Renzetti,had the traveler for about 15 years,no problems EVER.Sold it and bought the presentation 2000,i know i'll stay with renzetti.Over 3000-4000 flies tied with these vises,never needed to replace the jaws.

    Should have bought a renzetti traveler,had one for over 15 years not one problem EVER with it.Sold it and upgraded to the renzetti 2000 presentation.
