  1. I for one would be happy to tie a new fly on every 20-40 small mouth or so. I can tie a lot of flies and wish that math would be the case every time I went out!
  2. Nothing starts your heart anew like a new dog. Glad he found you
  3. Thanks, It's my name for it so I doubt you would find it. Based on "on-stream guides" deadly duo. I used to tie with soft hackle but settled on my own recipe below. Umpqua U-Series U202 Curved Scud, Size 18/20 Thread Black 8/0 Arizona Simi-Seal Black or Black Magic- Thinly dubbed Black Hen neck, very shortest feathers down by the neck, tied in by stem (Gunnar style) then 2-3 turns. I fish this on a 6X tied to the fly with a Davy knot and then 12” to a perfection loop. . I have these pre rigged so I can pull it out and pass the fly through the eye of the perfection loop and then onto my leader where I want it (Kelly Gallop style). Anything below a 16 is getting near impossible for me to do on the water. So while it is a bit of a mess in my fly box it attaches easily on the water, Normally I have a 14 or 16 weighted fly (60* jig)at point, but they pass that by for the 18 or 20s in this style. Hope it works for you.
  4. 12 ea. Size 18 Death eater nymphs tied and ready for tagging. They are what worked this past weekend.
  5. I'll jump in. I was waiting to make sure I would be back to my tying stuff in time. TBD (I'll tie what works this weekend)
  6. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED... A friend of mine has 2 tickets to the 2022 Super Bowl in Los Angeles, both box seats. He paid $21,500 each. It comes with a ride to and from the airport, lunch, dinner, and a $400 bar tab. Also, backstage pass to the winner’s locker room. He didn’t realize when he bought them, it was going to be on the same day as his wedding. If you’re interested, he’s looking for someone to take his place. It’s at St Paul’s Church at 3 pm. Her name is Ashley. She’s 5’4”, about 115 lbs, and a good cook, too. She loves to fish and hunt. She’ll be the one in the white dress. ReplyForward
  7. Torque does not equal traction, and 4WD does not mean 4 wheel stop. Here in Coastal SC during the last projected ice storm businesses shut down as a precaution. Our Northern Snow Birds were all upset because, back home up north of course nothing would have been closed for a little 1" of ice. The next day it all melted and we went back about our business.
  8. Not to pick a scab, but at the Dollar Trees here in SC everything is now $1.25.
  9. Listen to enough of his videos and you'll get an ear for his lovely brogue. Just DO NOT turn on the close captioning. It is so far off that, besides being amusing, you'll really have no idea what he said.
  10. Good news Mike, Thanks
  11. Check the rules please before posting stuff for sale. @mikechell @Mark Knapp
  12. More winged wet flies inspired by earlier ties posted by others this month. Decided to try a Mallard flank topping on the last. Lady Caroline-esque. All Sz 8 B10s.
  13. All the talk about Invicta wets got me to the bench. half a dozen in sz 12
  14. Darrell- Thanks for hosting. If swaps continue to run lean I enjoyed tying two. Didn't give me the practice over a dozen, but I liked it.
