Triple Threat October Caddis:

IMG-20211003-071239a.jpg

Hook: #12, scud

Thread: Orange Uni

Rib: copper wire

Body/Thorax: mixed natural & and a little burnt orange/rust dyed hares ear, split thread

Hackle: Bobwhite Quail

Head: mixed natural & a little more burnt orange/rust dyed hares ear, split thread

I did well with this pattern yesterday on a new to me section of river and one of its feeders, fooling a few rainbows and brookies.  No fish pics as I left my net in the car.

Love the scraggly, scruffy look of this one. This is what makes a fly come alive under water.

Thanks, TF.  Grease it up and fish it on the surface, it does well too.

Agree, I'd like to pick up one more, but those little ones with the sculpted pillars are hard to come by.
