  1. I bought his fly tyers box plus some extras Very pleased. Its great stuff
  2. If you have an electric motor repair shop in your area you can buy enameled copper wire by the foot
  3. I have a set of the angled ice scissors Never felt good in my hands
  4. We should start a swap of misfit fly tying supplies Might prove to be funny.
  5. Dr vette if you are in the boston area i will give you one of the two i made
  6. I have 40 packs of sheeps wool for making bob pop's silicone lure flies. Made about a dozen. Realized they are more work than they are worth. I also have about 30 packs of rug weaving yarn for making crab flies. May never use them.
  7. That chinese outfit has a lot of product, but the shipping and import fees are the killer there.
  8. I have a friend who uses neoprene fingerless gloves in conjunction with flip top mittens. He swears by them. My hands don't do well in the cold. So i don't fish much in the winter.
  9. I have two articulated desk lamps, i got 75w equivalent led flood bulbs. Lights up the whole area. I had been using a trio of ott lites before. I like the greater adjustablity of the spring arm lamps. I believe ott makes a bulb that fits the standard socket as well. You can never have too much light.
  10. You could look at the peak vise as well. Built to last and great warrantee, less than 150$
  11. I have had 2 regal vises in the past, never had issues with jaws spitting out hooks. Loved the simplicity, now i was fascinated with the revolution when i saw many of the pro tyers using them at the big travelling fly show. I have yet to tie on one so i can't really give an opinion, but i will say they are well built.
  12. Fishy Fullum has a book that uses common household items, many of the same ideas with a bunch more.
  13. Great advice guys. I am going down to close up my inlaws place and they are on a canal and i plan on getting in a few days of casting on the canal. I know there are snappers and mullet there as well. Going to tie up some this week.
  14. Leaving soon and looking for patterns for snook and other salt/brackish species. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
  15. That may be sparkle yarn by darice. I have some that i got at jo-ann fabrics. It was cheap. B
  16. I have a nor-vise and i split my time between the dubbing loop and a dubbing brush. It depends on what i am dubbing. I love the brushes for bunny buggers,
  17. I have tried 2 different granite bases for my norvise. I loved it being solid. But got tired of not seeing hooks on it and glass beads dropped on granite ricochet to parts unknown. Went back to polycarbonate base.
  18. I am also from ma, i lived all over the north shore but live just outside boston now. Welcome.
  19. Welcome quinn, there is a tying group that meets somewhere up on the seacoast. I think its three rivers fishing association, you might be able to join up with them.
  20. I like the pegboards on the doors. Very nice set up

    I confess

I prefer any of those fine golden brown beverages on the rocks, perhaps a jameson!
  22. I only plan on tying a few dozen, but extras are always good for swaps for other things. I will check out all the places listes. Thanks for the imput!
