  1. Thanks for sharing this! AK was the influence that really got me going in fly tying years ago. Cool to see him sitting at a vise at age 91.
  2. Make a day trip to the Cape if the weather is looking good. All the trout ponds are open water and most of the others too. Streamers and woolly buggers but bring midges if the temps warmer too, both zebra midges and often see rising fish also.

    Skunked?

You may have gone fishless, but you were not skunked..... beautiful place and pics! Thanks for sharing.
  4. A nicely tied fly! I have always liked the Cosseboom.
  5. I look forward to checking them out! Any chance there is an A.K. Best interview in the works?
  6. Thanks for posting this. The company in its early years was on Cape Cod.
  7. The details on this years show are up now on the website. It looks like a good cast of characters and is worth attending if you can make it. I have been twice in the past and hope to make it this year. Dan
  8. Very nice looking rod! Is that a Winston WT blank or something else? Thanks Dan
  9. I agree with the above as I have taken a class with Don in MA and you learn a lot. Wish it was not so far or I would take the class again
  10. Great pics. Had to cancel my planned trip there last week due to work and know it cost me a great week on the water. Thanks for posting Dan
  11. Smallie The fish are on the Cape. That collection of flies should work wellfor you. Possibly add a herring pattern if you get to fishing near any of the runs. Weather may even improve this weekend too. Have Fun!
  12. Nice flies thanks for sharing and I was looking for a good source of quality deer hair for these flies.
  13. I am liking the tiemco curved bobbin the best of what I have.
  14. Got mine yesterday too. Looks GREAT!!! Dan
  15. Now that I've used this for a couple months I convinced that it actually does work well and has made a big difference in the debris. Also now that all ya alls has gotten me into making balsa poppers it's been really nice to have a dust collection system at my desk. Hey I like that! Very well done. Thanks for posting Dan
  16. It was a good show. Longears your booth was busy anytime I was in the room.
  17. Looking forward to it. Do you know if classes ar full or not? I am planning on being there both days. Dan
  18. Nice job......looks good!! You should really enjoy tying at that desk now.
  19. Oatka, I have been the last tow years. This show is all about the tiers. You won't find a lot of booths with things for sale like at Somerset or Marlboro. If you can imagine using a small local restaurant during the day to invite a bunch of really good tiers to sit around and tie flies and talk about it .....that's what is. A great way to meet and learn from some great folks. Oh, the fishing in the area is not too bad either as mentioned. Dan
  20. Hi Do you know if the DVD that he has done on mayflies matches the same flies included in the book? I have briefly thumbed through the book in a shop and thought it looked well done but I don't know anything about the DVD. Any info would be appreciated.
  21. Hi, It just corrected itself here.
  22. Is AK working on any more video's Fly tying or otherwise? Will he be doing any shows in New England? I need to rewatch a couple of his video's again as I remember there were a couple of things that I was curious why he used a certain technique.
