February Flies From the Bench

Recommended Posts

Looks great! The second bead, will it be enough to make the fly sink faster? I am new to tying and the creeks I fish, pools are 4ft deep and slow, very slow current. Would they work for this type of water?

Cheers, Ron...

Hi Ron I'm sure it will get down pretty quickly due to the beads being tungsten

There is always the option of a sink tip or a single split shot if you need it to get down that bit quicker.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hook: Partridge Double Salmon size 2
Body: Silver Tinsel
Tag and Rib: Holographic Red Tinsel
Throat: Red Schlappen
Wing: Red Squirrel Tail
(First time Tying with a double hook, judging scale is different with these! Head, wing, and throat all came out longer than expected.)

2/0 deer hair slider

Awesome deer work! What is the action of this fly? Does it dive a bit or skim the surface?

Thanks! I've only tied a few haven't fished any of these but I'd imagine it would mainly stay on the surface
