Swamp Fly 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2016 Okay that's it, I don't know what you guys have been drinking but between Thecream, Deerhairdan, and Flytire, someone owes me a keyboard and a replacement beer. Snort! Thanks guys, it's been a long hard two days and I needed that. Oh and Cheech you need to get together with Adam to collaborate on a reindeer Christmas fly. I wonder what the penalties for shipping reindeer poop is?

TheCream 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2016 Cream, that's the nicest rack I've seen to date on this site. Your weekend challenge is to post a picture of that fly hanging out of a fishes mouth (caught - don't go piercing lips at the seafood counter at the supermarket) Don't think I won't try. caloosa bug 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2016 Simple, yet highly effective. Kept buying store bought one's for years, only to have the thread come unravelled. I thought to myself, there's nothing to it, I can make a better one. Then the addiction started.
Crackaig 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2016 Though mostly tied as a dry fly the Wickham's Fancy is also a great wet fly. This variation, known as the Black Wickhams, has been a great fly for me over the years. It is also good in larger sizes for sea trout (sea run browns). Cheers, C. Dave G. 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2016 Adam, I think you got the crazy part right. Just not sure how to apply the word lol ! Ya know I had this "crazy" crane fly pattern I took to Maine with me for a couple of years, it was all legs and stuff too. I thought for sure this was going to be "the" magic brookie killer. Well after about the 10th small chub each year, I finally gave up on the thing. Then it sat on my sheep skin patch on my vest I think for two more years, because lets face it , it looked cool before the legs started falling off etc. and I chucked it. Well, for all the work, I seriously hope your fly works better than that.
