Philly and Mike Chell,

Dron Lee indeed was the tyer I tried to remember before and could not, until Mike's memory jogger.  I found his site on the inet and now have all his work bookmarked again -- until the next puter crash that is! 

His pattern,  that is a bit like Philly's,  is called the YUSAKA CREASE Fly. You can find it in his Fresh Water Nation subsite.

My attempt at a Dark Spruce from last night, subbed spade feathers from a jungle cock cape for wings and hackle.  Tied in the wings splayed, as shown on @flytire's website.  I wrapped some lead beneath the peacock thorax for weight, causing the wings to shoot up when tied in, may need to flatten it or leave it out next time.  Still need to get some proper tying floss to improve the body.  Tips/critiques always welcome
