  8. other than a putter and mini golf I've never swung a club in my life, and to be honest I can't remember much about the mini golf, there was a lot of alcohol involved in that period of my life
  9. Yep, I am a southpaw myself, but I'll shoot righty with this one and the rest of my smoke poles. Shoot ambidextrous thanks to my grandfather, he insisted I learn to shoot righty as a kid. I am still truly left eye dominant but fully able to shoot rifles and shotguns with right eye, sidearms, left is my strong side.
  10. They look pretty to me, looking forward to tying one of those on. my humble spiders are in the mail today 9500 1108 4442 4284 6069 85 be advised another postal increase in effect, $6.05 each way
  11. I looked for a while and settled on the Kibler kit, all the inletting is completed just needs final fitting and finishing, and they have a very nice lock, considered a Pedersoli out of the box they are a nice gun, but I wanted something a little different than their trade gun. I hunt with a T/C Hawken .54 or a .50 rolling block muzzleloader (Pedersoli the closest I come to a modern in line). After covid and the shortage of caps the flinter idea grew stronger, Connecticut's modern rifle season is private land only and hard to get tags for additionally I can hunt primitive weapons during shotgun season. Hopeful to hunt with it for the spring turkey season.

  17. It is a classic premium rod; I have a 4-piece 8'10" 5wt HW (home waters) from 2011 when I converted to TU Life. Nice rod you will be buying without a warranty do a close inspection for nicks and blemishes that could cause failure hard to put a price on it from my perspective due to s/n its pre 2010 looks like a low time fished rod unless they refinished the grips general info The LT was first introduced in 1996 and continues to set the standard for multi-section rod design. This medium-fast action series is perfect for the discriminating angler who demands a compact design but is unwilling to compromise on action or feel. The LT series features our internal spigot ferrule system, which ensures that the taper and internal diameter of each section perfectly matches the adjoining section. This attention to detail produces a rod that is smooth casting and delicately delivers a fly with incredible accuracy. The LT series is perfect for travel, touring and hiking, and the performance of these rods is unmatched.
  18. nice tie I need a few for my box I've always used Floyd Frankie's shiner, but I have a soft spot for feather-wings
  19. Lew Oatman's Brook Trout We are our own worst critics after tying one for the challenge thread that I was not happy with (hot pink floss) I went and bought another spool of light pink floss and tied another also changed hook style. hook- Mustad 3665A # 8, thread- white, tail- hackle fibers; orange over black over white to imitate a brook trout fin, body- cream/white floss 3/4 and light salmon pink 1/4 tied full with a gold tinsel rib, throat- hackle fibers; same as tail, wing-two grizzly hackles with two olive hackles covering; six painted alternating scarlet and yellow spots, cheeks- jungle cock nails, head- olive with bottom painted white.
  20. I once caught a cormorant while fishing a strong tidal river current, hooked the poor bird in the wing on the underwater swing and had one hell of a fight. it was summertime I was in t shirt and shorts wet wadding had to take my shirt off and cover the birds head to unhook it. We, the bird and I were completely exhausted after the ordeal, and I sat on the rocks watching him swim off.
  21. ??? I would race him, but my lack of hare (hair) prevents it! in the end looks like he got his wish and turned turtle anyway. 🤪
  22. sitting on Mustad 3301A flounder hooks too long and not tying many flounder rigs these days, made a few streamers will see how they fish
